Burkina Faso: Bobo-Dioulasso–Banfora–Orodara rehabilitation works progress to 10-20%
The execution rate of rehabilitation works has reached approximately 10% on the Bobo-Dioulasso-Banfora axis and 20% on the Banfora-Orodara section, in western Burkina Faso, according to a video broadcast on October 4 by RTB (Radiodiffusion Télévision du Burkina). The Minister of Homeland Construction visited the site to evaluate the progress of these two axes, considered strategic for the national economy. On the Banfora-Orodara section, 30 kilometers of road must be completed by the end of the year, and earthmoving and foundation work are nearly finished on 15 kilometers. The minister indicated that the companies in charge of the works assured that deadlines would be met, emphasizing site organization and the supply of materials, particularly cement. The works were launched last March by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Odraogo. These two axes connect Bobo-Dioulasso to Banfora and Orodara. An execution rate that remains modest at this stage reflects the operational constraints associated with rehabilitating an existing road.
