Mauritius: Port Louis hosts the 2nd annual Africa Credit Rating Conference
From October 5 to 6, 2026, Port Louis is hosting the 2nd annual Africa Credit Rating Conference, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) alongside APRM, UNDP, and AfriCatalyst. According to UNECA, the gathering brings together policymakers, regulators, investors, rating agencies, and development finance institutions. Held under the theme "Toward the Development of African Capital Markets: Redirecting Africa's Capital," the conference examines the role of sovereign and corporate ratings in the cost of capital and risk assessment transparency. Discussions focus on deepening domestic markets -- liquidity, financial instruments, market infrastructures, local currency financing -- as well as artificial intelligence applied to rating. Speakers include representatives from the Mauritian government, Bank of Mauritius, African Union, APRM, and African and international rating agencies.
