Niger: In Tillabéri, Mara Bridge financed by the World Bank, roadworks 53% complete

The girder bridge in the village of Mara, in the Tillabéri region, stands 3 meters high by 45 meters long and meets required technical standards, according to an inspection led by Niger's Minister of Equipment and Infrastructure, Colonel Major Salis Mohammed Salisou. During this field visit, reported by RTN (Radio Télévision du Niger), the minister noted the completion of a structure resized to 2.50 meters high by 30 meters long, as well as four 2x2 type structures that are nearly finished. These emergency works are part of a program designed to improve the mobility of people and goods in the region. The Mara Bridge is financed by a World Bank credit via the Rural Mobility and Connectivity Project (PMRC Pacnen); the exact amount of this credit was not specified. The Tillabéri road network, 3 km long, shows an overall completion rate of 53%. The minister announced the upcoming resumption of the Niaméri section, deemed important for the country's economic and social development, without providing a specific schedule.
