Mali: Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Center inaugurated in Bamako for over 10 billion FCFA

The President of the Malian transition, Assimi Guita, inaugurated the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Center in Bamako, with construction costs exceeding 10 billion FCFA, financed entirely by the national budget. According to a note broadcast by Radiodiffusion Télévision du Burkina (RTB), the infrastructure spans 50 hectares and comprises eight blocks. Its completion comes three years after the laying of the foundation stone, fulfilling a commitment made by the Head of State, and aligns with the M63 vision for the development of scientific and technological human capital. The center is designed to function as a research, training, and incubation hub for young talents, with the ambition of producing "made in Mali" robots and conducting applicable work in agriculture, health, education, and mining. The president donated two buses and a car for the transportation of the center's students. For young researchers and Malian startups, the opening of the site creates an unprecedented physical and budgetary framework to develop local technological solutions, which until now depended on imported or foreign infrastructure.
