Côte d'Ivoire: Abidjan Infrastructure Exhibition calls on African companies to anticipate projects

The 5th edition of the Salon des infrastructures d'Abidjan (SIA) concluded on Saturday, September 19, 2026, after three days of discussions sponsored by the Ivorian Minister of Infrastructure and Road Maintenance, Hien Zié Yacouba. According to RTI Info, this edition focused on the role of the private sector in delivering major structural projects in Africa. Organizers urged African companies to stop waiting passively for tenders, but rather to anticipate projects, identify needs, and engage directly with decision-makers. This strategic shift aligns with Côte d'Ivoire's National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, which aims to mobilize investments in infrastructure, public-private partnerships, and joint ventures. Guinea participated in this edition, bringing a sub-regional dimension to the discussions: avenues for cooperation between Ivorian and Guinean companies in the construction sector were explored, with the Guinea Development Board presented as a gateway for exploring the Guinean market. "There is business, there is a tremendous amount to be done in our countries. We must seize the opportunities," summarized the closing message of the exhibition.
