South Africa: Ramaphosa to Visit Land Bank-Backed Redlands Dairy Farm

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will visit Redlands Dairy Farm in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape province, on Thursday, October 8, 2026, an agribusiness supported by the Land Bank. According to a Presidency statement relayed by SAnews.gov.za, the visit will allow the government to assess the operations of this agricultural enterprise. Located in the Amahlathi Local Municipality, Amathole District, Redlands Dairy Farm is a black- and youth-owned commercial enterprise that benefits from the Blended Finance Scheme (BFS), a mixed financing mechanism implemented by the Land Bank in partnership with the Department of Agriculture. "The President's visit will afford government an opportunity to inspect the operations of this Land Bank-supported agricultural enterprise," the Presidency stated. The presidential agenda will focus on the impact of Land Bank funding, job creation, and the farm's contribution to rural development and inclusive participation in the commercial agricultural sector. In the previous financial year, the Land Bank disbursed over 1,7 billion rands, including approximately 700 million through the Blended Finance Scheme alone, to commercial and emerging farmers. The institution also manages the Agri-BEE Fund and the Agro-Energy Fund, aimed at supporting the economic transformation of South Africa's agricultural sector.
