Africa Energy: Over 10,000 Delegates Expected at African Energy Week 2026 in Cape Town
Over 10,000 delegates will gather in Cape Town from October 12 to 16, 2026, for African Energy Week (AEW), according to an announcement released by Africa Newsroom (APO). The event, presented as the continent's largest energy gathering, will include the AEW Townhall dedicated to the sector's strategic issues, the Upstream E&P Forum focused on exploration and licensing, the Energy Finance Forum connecting project promoters and investors, the Energy Additions Forum dedicated to expanding energy access, and the Downstream & Petrochemicals Forum focused on refining and petrochemicals. The 8th APPO National Oil Companies CEOs Meeting, the Global Energy Leaders Forum, the Deal Room, and the African Farmout Forum will also be on the agenda, while the Renegade Intel (artificial intelligence, data centers) and Power Africa Today platforms will complete the schedule. Several countries will benefit from country spotlights: South Africa, Nigeria, Gabon, Ghana, Namibia, Mozambique, Republic of Congo, Algeria, Senegal, Equatorial Guinea, and others. The Senegalese president has appointed a high-level representative to speak at the event, alongside representatives from Brazil, Japan, Venezuela, the United States, and Grenada. The week will open on October 12 with the Just Energy Transition Concert, featuring Keasungs, Mafikizolo, Roga Roga & Extra Musica, DJ Dollar, and Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold as headliners, prior to the African Energy Awards ceremony. "AEW is not just a meeting to discuss Africa's energy potential; it is a movement where projects meet capital, where governments meet investors," states NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber.
