AES: North American diaspora called upon to mobilize investments and technology transfer
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) "rely primarily on the diaspora not only to combat bad ideas, but also to mobilize investments in the Sahel and technology transfer," according to a video broadcast by RTN (Radio Télévision du Niger). The minister specified that Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger are "regaining control of their resources" and now demand that they be processed locally, a policy that "creates added value" and "creates jobs," according to his remarks. Representatives of the High Councils of the three countries expressed their support for this direction and requested facilities for the employment of citizens from AES member countries. The targeted investment amount, project timeline, and identity of potential funders were not specified.
