Niger: 500 young Nigeriens depart for vocational training in Algeria

Five hundred young Nigeriens are heading to Algeria in two waves on September 29 and 30, 2026, to undergo vocational training as part of a bilateral cooperation program between Niamey and Algiers. An awareness session was held for them on September 26, 2026, according to Radio Télévision du Niger (RTN). The first group is scheduled to take off at 23:50 on September 29, and the second at 10:25 the following day, bound for Algeria for vocational training. This program was announced in June 2026 during a visit by a Nigerien delegation to Algeria. The young beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Nigerien state for this opportunity, emphasizing the importance of discipline and responsibility during their stay. The amount of funding allocated to this program has not been specified.
