South Africa: Electra Mining Africa expands to 44,000 m² for its 2026 edition in Johannesburg
Electra Mining Africa will take place from September 7 to 11, 2026 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, in Nasrec, covering a record net exhibition area of 44,000 m², up 4,000 m² from the previous edition, spread across six indoor halls and expanded outdoor spaces. According to the organizer Montgomery Group Africa, over 1,000 exhibitors, predominantly South African, along with national pavilions and international companies, will showcase equipment and technologies covering six complementary sectors: mining, manufacturing, automation, electrical and energy, transport, and engineering. The previous edition brought together professionals from 58 countries, illustrating the continental reach of the event, organized biennially since 1968 by Montgomery Group. The 2026 program includes free seminars by the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), workshops by the Society for Automation Instrumentation Mechatronics and Computer Engineering (SAIMC), the Women in Mining forum by WiMSA, the two-day national conference of the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa (LEEASA), as well as a new Skills and Career Hub supported by the SA Institution of Mechanical Engineering. The New Products and Innovation Awards, evaluated by the South African Capital Equipment Export Council (SACEEC), will reward the most accomplished innovations. "Electra Mining Africa brings together the technologies, expertise, and industrial relationships that help organizations make informed decisions and build lasting partnerships," states Charlene Hefer, portfolio director at Montgomery Group. For African mining and manufacturing industry players, the event serves as a platform for direct access to technology suppliers, distributors, and international buyers.
