Tanzania Targets $1 Trillion Economy by 2050

According to the Tanzanian presidency, cited by Sputnik Afrique, the country has set a long-term growth target aiming for a $1 trillion economy by 2050, as part of a national five-year development plan (2026/27-2030/31). Current growth stands at 5.9%, with a target of 6.3% by the end of 2026. Additionally, the country issued East Africa's first subnational green bond, spearheaded by the Tanga UWASA agency, which raised $20.8 million to finance water infrastructure.
